Here at The Mill, we believe in the power of community, and in the goodness of paying it forward. Our Giving Well is where giving back and wishing for miracles big and small come together to make a difference for neighbors in need.
More than supporting our shop
How it works.
The Giving Well started out as a literal well inside The Mill, where coins thrown in weren’t just for wishing, they were for giving forward to a worthy cause. Over the years our generous community has really wrapped their arms around those who need support.
Financially, each month we choose a recipient from those nominated, and share everything that’s been collected with them. We’ve been able to bring a bright spot to a wide variety of real life situations, from local cancer patients who need support with their medical travel expenses, to families falling on tough times with making ends meet. We always share our gift recipient, but donation amounts remain anonymous. It’s a great way for both our regulars and local businesses to pool their resources and make a real difference in the place we all call home.
