Two cousins. Two wives. One big dream.
The Mill is a coffee & food establishment in Albany, Minnesota – built to grow communal support and a shared love for coffee and food.
Est. January 2025
Founded by two coffee-loving ladies.
What sets The Mill apart is its diverse range of offerings – coffee drinks, wine, beer, mimosas, breakfast, flatbreads, paninis and salads – served in a room that doubles as a love letter to Albany.
How It Started
It all started because two cousins brought together their two wives.
Tom and James – cousins – brought together their wives Dawn and Christina. Four people, one shared table, and the kind of friendship that quietly waits for the right idea to come along.
That idea would arrive on Valentine’s Day, 2023, in a hair salon – of all places.
The Valentine’s Day Question
What is your dream job?
One answer: “A Varsity Cheerleading Coach.” The other: “A professional coffee taste tester.” Well – the cheerleading coach decided the other was the more realistic goal.
By the end of that hair appointment, the name, the place, and the ambience were decided. The four got together, and the husbands agreed: “The Mill” would be the perfect name to honor its predecessor – the legendary Albany Roller Mill.
